Reloaded 2010
Jan 3rd
Reloaded is just around the corner. Those wishing to seated with Sharing is Caring should send me their ticket details as soon as possible. You can see the current seating map here.
Our desired seating area has been taken over by the admins of the event. Alternative desired seating areas are running out. The quicker you can get me your details the sooner I can arrange for seating. Anyone on the fence about attending should make their decisions now and do the above. Thank you.
Update: Seating has been done. See the map linked above.
The Boredom Post
Nov 29th
Nothing much going on right now. I might vent some anger towards a recent Anno 1404 announcement when I can get my brain working. In the meantime have a random picture.
Update: I haven’t yet gotten around to playing the new Anno 1404 expansion but I may get around to it eventually. Instead of any content I’ve added another comic by H.C. Staff. Enjoy.

My Video Card Died
Nov 9th
This morning my Galaxy Geforce 8800GT decided to die. The game I was playing at the time froze as the driver tried to restart a few times before it failed and the machine turned off. The card itself was incredibly hot to the touch, I let it cool down before doing anything. My case has no speaker so I had to go find one and plug that in to get one long beep and two short beeps. Looking through the trouble shooting section of my motherboards manual I discovered that one long beep and two short beeps means graphic card/monitor error. Right now of I’m pretty buggered I can’t even remotely access any of my data because I reset the CMOS at some stage and my Raid isn’t set to boot so nothing happens.
There is only one other PCI-E video card in the house and that belongs to Jame’s. I’ll borrow that from him when he gets home to get my machine to at least boot and work from this laptop I’m on right now to get things done.
Update: Situation has changed, see comments.

Australian Defense Force Recruitment
Jun 18th
Today I attended a YOU session at the Defence Force Recruitment centre in Adelaide. The day included waiting, aptitude testing, waiting, informal interview, form filling, more waiting and finally a basic medical interview based on the previous form filling. The aptitude testing was a very basic multiple choice affair. First you take a general test which asks simple questions like:
Which of the following words does not belong:
Dog. Cat. Bird. Tyre. Fish.
After completing the first test or running out of time (the tests are timed), you have a short one minute break before doing the second maths based test. The maths test is a little bit more involved but overall the questions are simple like:
Plane A and Plane B are 500 kilometres apart and flying towards each other. If plane A is travelling at a constant speed of 240 k/m and plane B is travelling at a constant speed of 360 k/m when will the planes meet?
The informal interview afterwards is nothing special. You’re asked a few questions to sum up what you know about the ADF and are then presented with the results of your aptitude testing and the roles you can join. I chose Communication Electronic Technician and due to being a job in demand had an interview set up on the spot.
Communication Electronic Technicians maintain and repair the Air Force’s vast array of radar, radios, satellite and computer systems to ensure the Air Force has an accurate view of the airspace around it.
Three hours had passed and I spent a fourth hour doing some form filling and confirming some of my answers with a nurse before heading home. My job interview is scheduled for Tuesday the 23rd.
Let the Cleansing Begin!

I’ve made a few changes around these parts.
- Fewer plugins.
- Theme changed to Arclite.
- Removed garbage posts.
I didn’t think it was entirely necessary to run as many plug-ins as I had been. Being new to WordPress meant I spent many a time trying out new things and exploring the plethora of extensions available. The amount of plug-ins has now been reduced to a more reasonable level for such a small blog. The themes of old have been replaced with what you see before you. The new theme is far more colourful and matches rather nicely with Rurisu’s website. Finally a few rather useless posts have been removed regarding a certain level design project that is now in limbo.
Moving House
May 14th
I will be moving house late next week and hence will lose phone and internet for a lengthy period of time. I’ll probably only be online when at Tafe which I have on Monday, Tuesday and Friday so don’t expect to hear anything from me other than on those days. I’ve yet to sort out a disconnection date for the phone and internet but I’d expect to do so around Monday. I’m currently trying to use all my quota
